British Curling's Strategic Principles
The effective delivery of the Performance Plan relies on a number of principles that will guide all of the partners to deliver a performance-centred, athlete-focused programme. The key principles are:
- The development of superior programmes ensuring athletes are supported with the training environment to win medals;
- Providing direction and strong leadership within the High Performance Programme, driving to sustain and improve our proven world class delivery;
- Maintaining quality relationships and trust between the key partners and sponsors;
- Management of the business of international competitive curling with the application of best practice principles, meeting and exceeding the expectations of the partners;
- Expressing the story of high performance curling through appropriate public relations and media;
- Underpinning the principles of openness, transparency, accountability and respect;
- The programmes will promote equality but will be designed for and delivered to a small number of athletes based on sporting talent in the pursuit of excellence regardless of age, gender, disability, race, religion, sexuality or gender assignation;
- Work with partner organisations to provide access to high quality training facilities.
